DarioHealth Ends a Successful Diabetes Awareness Month
Direct-to-consumer approach yields 4,000+ new sign-ups & higher user-engagement results
Dec 5, 2016
BOSTON, Dec. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- DarioHealth Corp. (NASDAQ: DRIO), a leader in digital health and mobile health solutions, announced today that user-engagement metrics were higher during November 2016 when compared to the month of October 2016 due in part to Diabetes Awareness Month and new user-engagement strategies that were implemented.
DarioHealth's initiatives and efforts during November led to higher internet traffic due to, in our opinion, an increased amount of diabetes-related searches, especially on World Diabetes Day, when Google's "Doodle" commemorated the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, the co-discoverer of insulin.
"During Diabetes Awareness Month, we welcomed thousands of new registrants. In the U.S. alone, we had over 4,000 new sign-ups," explained Erez Raphael, DarioHealth's Chief Executive Officer. "Our primary goal is to give members of our DarioHealth community the best user experience possible to deal with their diabetes. It is extremely encouraging and inspiring when we receive positive feedback. This is the ultimate vote of confidence and the results from Diabetes Awareness Month echo this. We continue to build on our success as we head towards 2017 and beyond," stated Mr. Raphael.
Key metrics that were analyzed were app downloads, email open rates and user promotions. In one promotion, Mr. Raphael explained how Dario customers sent in "Dario Selfies." These pictures are now being used in marketing materials, on social media, and can be viewed in DarioHealth's Corporate Presentation.
Mr. Raphael continued, "The Dario team was delighted not just by the number of photos we received, which in it of itself is a testament to the product, but also the diversity of the types of photos. Some users sent pictures from their homes, while others were out and about on daily activities, and a few were enjoying their vacation. This reinforces that Dario is everywhere."
About Diabetes Awareness Month
Diabetes Awareness Month was instituted as a response to the growing number of people diagnosed with diabetes. It is held annually in November, with World Diabetes Day occurring on November 14th in honor of the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, a Canadian scientist who, along with his colleague Dr. Charles Best, discovered insulin. Nearly 30 million Americans have diabetes, per recent figures by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
