Lazier Racing Partners Teams Up with DarioHealth for the Indy 500
Indy 500 sponsorship deal thrusts diabetes awareness into the driver's seat
May 24, 2017
CAESAREA, Israel and INDIANAPOLIS, May 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- DarioHealth Corp. (NASDAQ: DRIO), a leading global digital health company with mobile health and big data solutions, today announced that it is partnering with Lazier Racing Partners and driver Buddy Lazier to raise diabetes awareness at the 101st Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil, which is set to take place on Sunday, May 28th at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, also known as "The Brickyard" by racing enthusiasts, has upwards of 450,000 guests on race day along with a worldwide television audience of millions. The partnership is the brainchild of Lazier Racing Partners' sponsorship developer Bruce Bohlander, who personally uses Dario to manage his diabetes, and wants to use the Indy 500 as a platform to raise diabetes awareness. As part of the agreement, DarioHealth's logo will prominently appear on Buddy Lazier's #44 car and on the team's official uniform.
The 1996 Indy 500 winner and 2000 IndyCar Champion, Lazier is among the most experienced racers in the field, and at age 49, he is making his 20th career Indy 500 start. Should Lazier win, he would become the oldest winner in history, passing Al Unser's 1978 Indy 500 win at the age of 47.
The acclaimed Dario™ Blood Glucose Monitoring System all-in-one blood glucose meter and native smartphone app provides people with diabetes and pre-diabetes with a unique method to check their blood glucose levels via their iPhone.
Buddy Lazier said, "DarioHealth has a unique and easy solution for diabetes management. The Dario™ Blood Glucose Monitoring System is an all-in-one blood glucose meter that connects to an iPhone.
